Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preparation: Carefully remove the testing swab and the transport container from their plastic wrapping.
  2. Collection: Put on the provided glove. Wipe the swab across your HVAC return and registers. Pro Tip: Mold often thrives in the dirt and debris around vents. For the most comprehensive results, consider swabbing your HVAC filter as well.
  3. Labeling: Print your name clearly on the Swab sticker and wrap it around the back portion of the swab.
  4. Securing the Sample: Remove the cap from the transport container, place the swab inside, and seal it tightly.
  5. Documentation: Fill out the top portion of the Microbiology Chain of Custody sheet completely.
  6. Packaging: Place the swab container and the Chain of Custody sheet into the Ziploc portion of the provided biohazard bag. Then, place that bag into the prepaid envelope.
  7. Shipping: Send your test back to us for free via USPS.
